Children who learn differently

Jewish learning that fits the child.

Some children can’t succeed in Hebrew school because of learning disabilities, autism, hearing loss or other challenges. JEEP teaches them one-on-one, with hands-on lessons that fit the way they learn.

Rabbi Karp learns one-on-one with a boy, with open books on the table between them.

For life

A love of learning

Not every lesson aims at a date. Some children learn for the love of it.

“I want to learn with your son every day, except for Shabbos.”

A story from the film

Every day, except Shabbos

A mother asked Rabbi Karp to learn with her son once a week. He was born with hearing loss, and he needed to be ready for Jewish day school.

After their first week of lessons, Rabbi Karp called her. He wanted to learn with the boy every day, except for Shabbos.

She did not know how she could afford that. Rabbi Karp told her not to worry. He would take care of it.

“And immediately, once they started learning, the bond was a really beautiful bond.”
