He was reading the Israelite in the lobby of his assisted-living home when a visitor from JEEP came in.
“How did you know to come here and visit me?” he asked.
Before long he was holding a Chumash, the Five Books of Moses, for the first time in years.
“This is the book,” he said. “It goes all the way back to Moses.”
“It means so much to me that Judaism isn’t just there. You’re bringing Judaism here, to me, way out here.”
A resident of an assisted-living home
