JEEP serves people of every ability. This website must work for them too.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
What we did
- We tested every page with the axe accessibility checker, and checked the layout of every page on a computer screen and a phone screen.
- You can use the whole site with a keyboard. A “Skip to content” link comes first, and the focused link always shows a gold outline.
- Text and background colors have strong contrast. Pictures have text descriptions.
- The JEEP film has English captions.
- Each form field has a label, and your browser can fill in your name, email and phone.
- The site respects the “reduce motion” setting on your device.
What is not fully accessible
The past issues of Headlights are PDF copies of the printed newsletter. A screen reader cannot read all of them well, and one issue (Spring 2013) is a picture of the pages with no text. The film captions were made with speech-recognition software and then checked, so a few words may be wrong. If you need any of this in another form, ask us.
Tell us about a problem
If something on this site does not work for you, call or text 513-307-2386 or email rabbi@jewisheducate.org. Tell us the page and the problem. We will fix it if we can, and help you get the information another way.
